Marketing Coordinator (fixed-term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Coordinator within the Marketing team at Immediate Media Co. (formerly BBC Magazines, BBC Magazines Bristol and Origin). We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and confident person with a proven track record in campaign management to join our busy subscriptions and Direct Marketing team. You will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a variety of mixed media subscriptions marketing campaigns across a range of specialist titles. Always striving to identify new opportunities for customer acquisition and retention, you will have a flair for copywriting and a keen eye for detail. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the day to day running of our calendar of events throughout the year, so previous events management experience would be ideal, but excellent organisational, time management and budgeting skills would be essential in this role.

About the role:
The key elements of the role are to identify, develop and co-ordinate the implementation of timely, profitable and relevant subscription marketing promotions, in line with overall marketing objectives.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement tactical subscription-marketing activities, both through the magazine and online and third parties, to drive subscription revenue for individual titles whilst always considering opportunities for all magazines within the portfolio.

2. Identify and implement long term and profitable subscriber-value promotions, both through the magazine, online and via third parties, building on existing customer relations to improve retention amongst subscription database.

3. Provide input to the subscription-marketing planning process. Identify and source relevant and timely subscription promotions, both through the magazine and online, ensuring marketing activities are carried out within budget, negotiating with suppliers where necessary.

4. Working with editorial and ad sales teams, identify relevant key partnerships for subscription promotions. Build and maintain effective working relationships with key partners to promote both specified magazine title and associated subscription opportunities.

5. Draft subscription-marketing copy providing clear and detailed creative briefs for the appropriate editorial and online teams, ensuring their complete involvement at all stages. Maintain effective working relationships with editorial teams and Publishers, promoting importance and objectives of subscription activities for individual titles. Advise and update subscription progress where necessary.

6. As a point of contact with Subscription Bureau for individual titles, maintain effective relationships, providing detailed campaign briefs for all subscription-marketing activities. Ensure their complete understanding and involvement of subscription activities.

7. Maintain accurate records of all campaign costs incurred for new and existing magazine subscription activities, raising purchase order, monitoring total expenditure.

8. Maintain accurate records of subscription marketing activities, monitoring and identifying notable variances on response rates across specified titles and reporting on movements as necessary.

9. Track all competitor activity and work with the Marketing Manager to ensure competitive advantage. Formulate a monthly marketing report, and represent your titles at monthly management meetings.

10. Develop and implement Reader Surveys for own portfolio, with the full co-operation of editorial, ad sales and Publishers. Co-ordinate the collation of results in a timely and accurate fashion, publish feedback to key individuals and assist in the development and implementation of Ad Sales Media Packs.

11. Own the Weaver subscription models for your titles

12. Develop and implement events and reader days, with the full co-operation of editorial, ad sales and Publishers. The co-ordination of this as follows
a) Successfully planning any event including all teams involved.
b) Booking any venues or stand locations and any furniture
c) Arranging the delivery of any items such as magazines, gifts
d) Organising any staff
e) Organising any catering
f) Booking any stand builders that are required
g) Co ordinating and producing any merchandise and promotional elements
h) Designing and printing any stand artwork
i) Ensuring that all health and safety documents are adhered to
j) Organising set up of the area on build up day
k) Successfully running the stand for open days
l) Ensuring the safe processing of any orders or revenue received
m) Analysing any results from the event and holding a de brief

Skills and experience required:
Essential
• A minimum of 2 years experience in Direct Marketing

Desirable
• Acquisitions and Retention experience (preferably within a subscriptions marketing environment)
